We all enjoy Halloween because it allows us to be festive! Adults are able to throw Halloween parties and set up a haunted house. Children are able to dress up in scary costumes and props, which they enjoy a lot. Families are able to get together and carve pumpkins and decorate. And its just that time of the year where everyone is out purchasing a bunch of candy.

Halloween allows us to be creative!

The Calm Before the Storm...

WOW, What a beautiful Day! Anyone in Central Florida now knows what is meant by the calm before the storm. Just hours before Tropical Storm Ernesto (and possibly Hurricane Ernesto) is supposed to hit, it is one of the nicest days... not a clould in the sky and not a single sign of the oncoming storm. Space Shuttle Discovery Lands Safely!

Alright this post has nothing to do with home and garden, but since it has to do with NASA and Florida, I decided to do a little post about the Space Shuttle Discovery, especially since Discovery is the the second shuttle flight since the 2003 Columbia disaster that crashed and killed seven astronauts.

Space Shuttle Discovery and its crew members returned to Earth Monday morning around 9:14 a.m. , ending an impressive mission that has put back NASA and it's space program back on track.

Italy Win Fourth World Cup After Shootout!

I don't know if anyone watched Sunday's Final between Italy and France, but the game was an excellent game. France took the lead in the opening minutes off a penalty kick scored by Zidane and 12 minutes later the Italians put in the equalizer. Everyone here at the office was for Italy! Italy won the World Cup for the fourth time on Sunday when they beat France 5-3 on penalties after the teams finished level at 1-1 in a dramatic final that saw French captain Zinedine Zidane sent off in extra time.

We've Got World Cup Soccer Fever....

I don't know about you, but we have been pretty excited about the FIFA World Cup Tournament this past month. We are upset the US Team didn't have a better showing, but are still excited about the Cup and try to watch as much as possible. It least Italy is still alive, the office favorite.

It so cool to finially see some decent Soccer on TV, without having to watch the Spanish networks or watch a game on ESPN2 on Saturday afternoon. Hopefully, we can watch as much as possible, without interfering with work and family life(I think my wife would agree that I have already watched too much!) Anyway, lets all hope for a Great World Cup!

I am proud to announce that my wife gave birth to our second child on Thursday June 1st. Alexander Anthony was born at 6:04AM and weighed 7lbs 5oz. He and his mother are doing well and are adjusting to the new life. His big sister Gina is delighted, estatic, and a BIG help with her little brother.

It is such a joy and a privilage to have a healthy newborn child at home.

Unfortuantely we do not sell canopy covers at Coconutz Home and Garden. So if you are looking for a replacement canopy cover, my recommendation would be to go to a local fabric store that deals with outdoor fabric and have them tailor what you are looking for as a canopy cover for the swing.

The other recommendation I would make is for you to visit www.cushionsource.com and get in touch with them about canopy covers or cushions. I thinkthey might be able to help you with finding canopy covers or cushions for your porch swing.

Let them know that we recommended them and they will help you withthis matter. Again I'm sorry i have not been able to help you that much. We will keep looking for other websites that sell replacement parts for your canopy swing.

Home and Garden Show

We attended The Central Florida Home and Garden Show over the past weekend. We were checking out the show to see if it would be worthwhile to get a booth for the next show in the fall.

The show was a lot of fun. There was the usual home and garden stuff... everything from landscaping and gardening, to remolding your kitchen and painting your house. There were so fairly neat new ideas, such as... I particularly liked the remote control lawn mower. You can actually mow your lawn while sitting and relaxing in a lawn chair. Wouldn't it be great to team up with one of our great hammocks and cut you lawn while truely relaxing?

The show included something for everyone. My wife enjoyed the new cleaning products and the closet and garage organizers, while my daughter liked the face painting and entertainment.

Hopefully, we will decide to attend in the fall, and you will be able to find beach chairs, flashlights, and maybe even some bar stools at the show next time.
